Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

LOCATION: Greater Boston area (local applicants only, please)

REPORTS TO: Board Certified Behavior Analyst

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification as a Registered Behavior Analyst (”RBT”) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board: the Company is willing to train and pay for certification/test if certification has lapsed or has not been obtained.

  • Education: Required – HS diploma or GED equivalent; the ideal candidate is currently studying or has attained an associate’s or bachelor's degree and is interested in pursuing a career in psychology, special education, child development, behavior analysis or other health service-related field.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • An ideal candidate is passionate about working with neurodiverse children and teens diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and other diagnoses.

  • Demonstrate empathy for others, patience and emotional intelligence, with a genuine interest in providing care services for people with disabilities in their community.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a clinical team.

  • Interest in personal growth and challenging oneself personally and professionally.

  • Proactively seek opportunities to learn from others and apply new understandings.

  • Possess excellent written and spoken communication skills to engage with clinical partners, caregivers, and clients.

  • Has worked within the in-home and community setting and/or is eager to learn best ways to support clients in their natural environments

  • Values a team approach and contributes a solution focused mindset to challenges that arise within human services

  • Must have reliable transportation

PRIMARY FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), provide one-on-one therapy services applying the science of applied behavior analysis (ABA) within the client’s home and/or out in the community with a caregiver present.

  • Under the supervision of a BCBA, implement the skills acquisition and behavior modification plans developed by the BCBA for the client.

  • Collect data used to monitor progress and assess the effectiveness of implemented plans for clients.

  • Complete and submit session notes following organizational guidelines at the end of each scheduled shift with client; ensure that session notes are uploaded to the clinical operating system in a timely fashion and in accordance with company policy

  • Support the BCBA in implementing assessments and progress reports, delivering caregiver training, and attaining any other clinical goals as deemed necessary and appropriate.

  • Participate in periodic supervision meetings with assigned BCBA to review client progress, address issues, provide clarity and develop rapport.

  • Create a positive and rewarding session environment for the client.

  • Ensure compliance with the rules and policies expressed in the Company’s clinical manual.
