Emergent Learning Center Hawai‘i is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). This position involves providing one-on-one behavioral intervention services to children and adolescents diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental differences.
Behavior Technicians work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and are responsible for implementing individualized treatment plans, collecting behavioral data, and supporting the development of functional skills that improve independence and quality of life.
Services may be provided in a variety of settings including clinic environments, schools within the Department of Education (DOE), and home-based sessions.
We are looking for individuals who are reliable, motivated to learn, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of the families we serve.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Implementing behavior intervention plans designed by supervising BCBAs
- Teaching communication, social, and daily living skills
- Collecting accurate behavioral data during sessions
- Maintaining professional communication with supervisors and caregivers
- Participating in team meetings, supervision sessions, and training opportunities
- Supporting clients across clinic, school, and home environments when applicable
Qualifications:
- Must hold an active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
- Must be currently enrolled in a master’s-level program in psychology, behavior analysis, education, or a related field, with the intention of pursuing advanced certification in the field (e.g., BCBA).
- Minimum of three years of experience providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services or working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Demonstrated experience implementing behavior intervention plans, collecting behavioral data, and collaborating with supervising clinicians.
- Full availability required Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to support school-based and clinical service schedules.
- Reliable personal transportation and the ability to travel to service locations across O‘ahu, including school, home, and clinic settings.
- Strong professional communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to follow clinical protocols, accept ongoing supervision, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to successfully pass all required background checks and clearances necessary for working in school, clinic, and community-based service environments.
Preferred qualifications:
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing
- Minimum of three years of experience providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services
- Experience implementing advanced instructional and clinical frameworks such as PEAK (Promoting the Emergence of Advanced Knowledge), Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT), and AIM-based programming
- Experience working within Department of Education (DOE) school environments or supporting neurodivergent learners in educational settings
- Active certifications in QBS Safety-Care or equivalent crisis prevention training
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Actively enrolled in a graduate program in psychology, education, behavior analysis, or a related field while pursuing Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
