Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

The Creekside School is pleased to share an internal opportunity for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). This role is ideal for team members who are looking to continue growing within The School and deepen their impact supporting students with severe to profound needs.

As a specialized, nonpublic school, we serve students on the autism spectrum who require a high level of behavioral, academic, and social-emotional support. Our work is highly collaborative, structured, and rooted in consistency and care.

About the Role
In this position, you will work closely with Special Educators, BCBAs, and Related Service Providers to implement individualized education and behavior programs. This is a hands-on role where consistency, teamwork, and strong student relationships are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement IEP goals, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and individualized student programs with fidelity

  • Collect and track accurate behavioral and academic data throughout the day

  • Support student development in communication, social-emotional skills, and independence

  • Utilize evidence-based behavioral strategies aligned with student needs

  • Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in trainings and student meetings

  • Support community-based instruction and student outings when needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Current team members with experience supporting our student population

  • Strong understanding of behavior intervention strategies and data collection practices

  • Ability to remain calm, consistent, and professional in high-intensity situations

  • Clear communication and a collaborative mindset

  • Commitment to student-centered, structured learning environments

Qualifications

  • RBT certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with individuals with severe developmental needs (2+ years preferred)

  • Experience implementing behavior plans and collecting data

Important Considerations

This role works closely with students who may demonstrate high levels of behavioral need. Staff are trained in Safety-Care (QBS) and are expected to implement proactive strategies and, when necessary, safe physical interventions as a last resort.

This is an active role requiring movement throughout the day, including standing, walking, and responding quickly to student needs.

Why This Opportunity

  • Continue growing your career within The School

  • Expand your skillset in behavior support and data-driven instruction

  • Be part of a highly collaborative and mission-driven team

  • Make a meaningful impact with students who require consistent, skilled support
