Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including periodontal dentistry, prosthodontics, and general dentistry, ensuring precision and efficiency.
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials, maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
- Take dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Open Dental, Eaglesoft, and Dentrix to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and procedural flow.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions.
- Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and ensuring smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate accurate record keeping and billing processes.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix, is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging techniques including 3D scanning, and infection control protocols.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Skilled in chairside assisting with a strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, providing compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
