<Duties>
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including digital imaging using advanced equipment like 3D scanners, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients, especially in pediatric dentistry or medically complex cases, to support comprehensive care.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide excellent dental receptionist support by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and guiding patients through their visit with clear communication.
- Support four-handed dentistry techniques by working seamlessly alongside the dentist to improve efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
- Maintain infection control protocols and proper disposal of contaminated materials to ensure a sterile environment at all times.
- Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care instructions, and oral hygiene practices to promote long-term oral health.
<Experience>
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general or pediatric dental clinic setting is required; experience with specialized fields such as prosthodontics or endodontics is a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation is essential.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security must be demonstrated.
- Skilled in taking X-rays, including digital imaging techniques such as 3D scanning for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques is necessary.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry environments.
- Competence in medical coding for dental procedures and understanding medical terminology relevant to dental care enhances overall service quality.
