Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained
- Take and develop X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes
- Provide patient education on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and verifying insurance information
- Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment in compliance with infection control protocols
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
- Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and medical imaging procedures
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining radiation safety standards
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic technique to prevent cross-contamination
- Experience working with pediatric patients and pediatric dentistry procedures preferred
- Familiarity with medical coding, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance is highly desirable
