Join our exceptional dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a welcoming environment for patients while supporting the delivery of exceptional dental care. Our second-generation two doctor practice is looking for a reliable, friendly and detail oriented dental assistant to join our busy, growing general practice in Federal Way. We utilize digital scanning in all aspects from Invisalign to restorative dentistry & implants so any scanning experience is a plus. We are seeking an assistant with a minimum of three years experience who is confident with patient care, fabricating temporaries, making bleach trays, taking intra-oral photos, good with organization and comfortable with technology. In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, Invisalign, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Take digital X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety
- Manage patient records using Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments
- Provide excellent dental receptionist support by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and maintaining organized medical records
- Support four-handed dentistry practices by efficiently handing instruments and managing patient flow for optimal procedure efficiency
- Maintain strict infection control standards through proper sterilization, aseptic techniques, and knowledge of anatomy to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dental clinic setting with proficiency in dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting and medical documentation
- Familiarity with Dentrix
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, HIPAA compliance & infection control practices.
- Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools safely and accurately
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with dentists, hygienists, receptionists, and patients
