Job Overview
We are looking for a team-oriented, hard working Dental Assistant to join our private practice office! Our office emphasizes a positive work culture, camaraderie, and care for our patients and team. You will assist the doctor in clinical procedures, provide comfort to the patients, and help create a welcoming environment for our team and patients. Our office sees mainly adults where we perform a variety of procedures including root canals, implants, and surgical extractions. Experience preferred but not required!
Duties
- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures including fillings, root canals, crowns, implants, and extractions
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique standards
- Take dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Manage patient records using Oryx software while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security. On-site training will be provided for those unfamiliar with the software
- Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history accurately to support safe treatment planning
- Maintain infection control protocols by adhering to OSHA guidelines, sterilizing instruments, and practicing proper infection prevention techniques at all times
Skills
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy
- Experience with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, vital signs measurement, and dental imaging procedures
- Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic technique to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
- Ability to perform comprehensive dental assisting duties in general dentistry settings with an emphasis on pediatric dentistry when needed
- Knowledge of advanced equipment such as 3D CBCT for detailed imaging procedures in complex cases
- Excellent communication skills to serve as a liaison between patients and the clinical team while supporting the role of a dental receptionist when required
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
