Registered Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments with precision and confidence.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring patient safety and adherence to HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records management.
  • Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical histories, recording vital signs, and explaining procedures clearly to ensure comfort and understanding.
  • Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document treatment details accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques, proper sterilization procedures, and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
  • Collaborate in four-handed dentistry practices with the dentist to optimize efficiency during procedures using advanced tools like 3D scanners and medical imaging devices.
  • Assist with medical documentation, coding procedures when necessary, and managing medical records for comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment while adhering to all safety standards related to anatomy knowledge and infection prevention.

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and performing X-ray procedures safely.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate record keeping and documentation.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to work efficiently in general dentistry settings as well as pediatric dentistry environments specializing in pediatrics.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and the use of medical imaging tools like 3D scanners for comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or front-office team member to coordinate appointments and facilitate smooth clinic operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform endodontic or prosthodontic procedures is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning new skills is essential. Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
