Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique is maintained at all times.
  • Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.
  • Operate electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Curve and Eaglesoft to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical history.
  • Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
  • Manage patient flow by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and updating medical records efficiently.
  • Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness.
  • Assist with advanced procedures using a 3D scanner or other specialized equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization techniques and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
  • Support the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to improve efficiency during procedures.
  • Ensure accurate medical coding for billing purposes while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control protocols.
  • Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties is preferred.
  • Ability to take high-quality X-rays and operate medical imaging equipment confidently.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient privacy is essential.

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
