Registered Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dental team. Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontics with precision and professionalism.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical documentation.
• Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions using clear dental terminology.
• Maintain infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to uphold safety standards.
• Assist with dentistry procedures by creating a friendly environment for all ages of patients and understanding specific needs.
• Use advanced tools such as 3D scanners for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning in complex cases.
• Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical records management.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent certification required.
• Proven experience in dental assisting within general dentistry or specialty areas such as pediatrics, prosthodontics, or endodontics preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR system, Open Dental is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
• Familiarity with medical coding and documentation processes related to dental procedures is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during four-handed dentistry procedures for optimal workflow.
• Experience with medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners is a plus but not required.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
