Registered Dental Assistant

Sweet Tooth Pediatric Dentistry is looking for a skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our team! Our practice is a growing pediatric private practice and we are looking for a friendly, hard working dental assistant to join our fantastic team! As an RDA with us, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional dental care to children, while also being a part of a family-oriented private practice. The ideal candidate holds an active RDA license and is comfortable assisting in treatment and hygiene. We are looking for someone with a friendly attitude who is willing to provide a positive experience to our patients and grow with our practice. Responsibilities:

  • The primary role of the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is to assist the dentist as necessary to give the patient the ideal treatment
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patients feel comfortable
  • Prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors - thereby enabling them to provide efficient, quality dental treatment
  • Perform x-rays and intra-oral photos
  • Perform and discuss pre-operative and post-operative care
  • Coronal polishing certificate preferred but not required
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories in accordance with the American Dental Association guidelines
  • Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, HR policies and practices)

Qualifications:

  • Equivalent to high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and specified training courses as mandated by state for certification, licensure, or registration
  • Associate degree or one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year experience as RDA
  • Pediatric dental experience is preferred but is not required
  • Open to dental assistant externs and new graduates

Skills/Requirements:

  • Current Texas RDA license
  • Certification to complete the following: coronal polishing, obtain radiographs, pit and fissure sealant application, etc
  • Experience with dental software systems such as Open Dental
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
