Sweet Tooth Pediatric Dentistry is looking for a skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our team! Our practice is a growing pediatric private practice and we are looking for a friendly, hard working dental assistant to join our fantastic team! As an RDA with us, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional dental care to children, while also being a part of a family-oriented private practice. Responsibilities:
- The primary role of the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is to assist the dentist as necessary to give the patient the ideal treatment
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patients feel comfortable
- Prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors - thereby enabling them to provide efficient, quality dental treatment
- Perform x-rays and intra-oral photos
- Perform and discuss pre-operative and post-operative care
- Coronal polishing certificate preferred but not required
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories in accordance with the American Dental Association guidelines
- Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, HR policies and practices)
Qualifications:
- Equivalent to high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and specified training courses as mandated by state for certification, licensure, or registration
- Associate degree or one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year experience as RDA
- Pediatric dental experience is preferred but is not required
- Open to dental assistant externs and new graduates
Skills/Requirements:
- Current Texas RDA license
- Certification to complete the following: coronal polishing, obtain radiographs, pit and fissure sealant application, etc
- Experience with dental software systems such as Open Dental
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
