Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies using aseptic technique and proper infection control protocols
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring accuracy and patient safety
  • Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic to document treatment details accurately and efficiently
  • Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient medical history to support comprehensive care delivery
  • Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to promote understanding and compliance
  • Support administrative duties as a dental receptionist when needed, including appointment scheduling and patient communication

Experience

  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures
  • Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting skills
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures
  • Experience with medical documentation, medical coding, HIPAA compliance, and managing medical records securely
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms for record keeping
  • Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with pediatric patients preferred
  • Certification or training in X-ray safety and radiation protection is highly desirable
