Responsibilities
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques and infection control protocols are strictly followed
- Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology while maintaining patient safety and comfort
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; ensure accuracy in medical documentation and coding
- Monitor vital signs and medical history to support comprehensive patient assessments in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist when needed, scheduling appointments and answering patient inquiries
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines
Qualifications
- Valid registration as a Dental Assistant with current state licensure or certification required
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting preferred
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical records management is a plus
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for effective communication and documentation
- Skilled in taking X-rays, including intraoral images and 3D scans; experience with medical imaging equipment is advantageous
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in four-handed dentistry setups while maintaining high standards of care
- Excellent interpersonal skills to support patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, fostering a positive experience
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical coding practices for accurate billing and recordkeeping
