Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical histories.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when necessary to support comprehensive patient care.
- Perform dental assisting duties including four-handed dentistry, chairside support, and taking accurate dental terminology notes for documentation purposes.
- Support the dental reception area by managing appointments, answering patient inquiries, and handling medical documentation with confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure all equipment such as 3D scanners is properly calibrated and ready for use.
- Uphold high standards of infection control and adhere to all safety protocols to protect patients and staff alike.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure.
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic or similar platforms for managing medical records.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment supporting four-handed dentistry techniques.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
