Registered Dental Assistant

Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment
  • Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed for patients of all ages
  • Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care
  • Provide dental education to patients regarding procedures, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care
  • Support front desk operations by handling dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation and records

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures
  • Hands-on knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
  • Experience working with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is highly preferred
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively for pediatric and adult patients
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and dental assisting best practices in pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties
  • Competency in using 3D scanners or other advanced medical imaging tools is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with the dental team and provide compassionate patient care
