Registered Dental Assistant - Maternity Leave Fill-In

Job Description

Baxter Family Dentistry is seeking a Temporary Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our team for a maternity leave. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and comfortable assisting in a fast-paced dental environment while providing excellent patient care.

This role is perfect for an experienced dental assistant who can quickly adapt to office workflows and support the dentist and team during the assignment period.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and dental instruments
• Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols
• Take dental radiographs (as permitted by licensure)
• Chart procedures and update patient records
• Provide patient education and post-treatment instructions
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment
• Support front office or clinical team as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in TN
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience with Open Dental preferred - not required, will teach on site if needed
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work efficiently and adapt to new environments

Preferred Experience

• 1+ year of dental assisting experience - NOT required, any experience will be considered
• Familiarity with general dentistry procedures
• Experience taking digital X-rays

Compensation

• Competitive hourly rate: $18-23 per hour, depending on experience
