Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) at a modern dental practice (3+ Yrs exp req)

Seeking an experienced RDA in a woman owned, women operated general dental office. We are located in Concord.

Qualifications Required

- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification

- Proficiency in chairside assisting and dental assisting

- Tech Savvy ( Fully digital modern dental practice)

- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations

- Ability to perform X-Rays ( DEXIS Nomad experience is appreciated)

- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills

Daily responsibilities of an RDA at our Practice

- Check treatment rooms for cleanliness; make necessary changes

- Check and turn on treatment room equipment

- Gather and review patient charts for the day

- Accurately prepare trays for treatment according to each patient’s file

- Set up treatment room for each patient

- Clean treatment rooms after each visit by discarding all disposable items, assembling soiled instruments and placing them in sterilization area and cleaning treatment room surfaces with disinfectant solution

- Infection Control procedures for hygiene treatment area:

  • Discard properly all disposable items from each visit
  • Assemble soiled instruments and palace in sterilization area
  • Clean treatment room surfaces with disinfectant solution
  • Pre-soak soiled instruments in disinfectant
  • Process instruments in ultrasonic cleaner tank
  • Rinse and soak treatment trays in disinfectant
  • Sort and package instruments by tray for proper sterilization
  • Load, activate and vent the sterilization unit according to the manufacturer’s directions
  • Store instruments and trays in appropriate places
  • Maintain proper water level in sterilizer

- Assist Hygienists in cleaning and disinfecting operatory, charting and x-rays.

- Responsible for all sterilization procedures for Dr. Prabhakar and all Hygienists

- Mix required cleaning solutions and keep them fresh

- Clean sterilizers and ultrasonic cleaner tank

- Clean up treatment rooms at the end of the day, turn off equipment

- Check patient charts and laboratory work orders at the end of each day

- Maintain a supply inventory for treatment rooms and laboratory

- Submit supply order to Dr. Prabhakar/office manager as necessary.

- Communicate with patients in a friendly, understandable, and professional manner.

- Escort patients into treatment rooms and make them comfortable.

- Prepare patients for treatment; explain scheduled treatments to patients

- Check on patient comfort during treatment and help allay patient anxiety.

- Hand dental instruments to dentist in an accurate and timely manner

- Check on post – operative patients.

- Escort patient to the front office after the visit

Laboratory Duties:

  • Pour and trim model
  • Prepare for lab cases and impressions for pick up
  • Assist Front Office Coordinator with telephone, filing and other front office duties
  • Collect and dispose of all daily trash to the appropriate location

  • This position requires the employee to spend approximately 80-90% of his or her time working chairside with the Doctor, the balance of time (approximately 10-20%) is spent on other activities

  • This position requires the employee to effectively use a computer screen and interpret printed materials, software and other appropriate paperwork.

  • This position requires the employee to input information into computer systems and retrieve and work with appropriate paperwork, equipment and supplies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
