Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by providing exceptional patient care and assisting with various clinical procedures. This position will Be focused on Assisting our Dental Hygieniest, as well as helping on the doctor side when time allowes. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. COMPENSATION is based on performance and experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Participate in infection control procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
Skills
- Familiarity with Dental coding practices is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately.
- Experience with X-Ray technology and procedures.
- Experience with preventive scanning a plus, using scanner such as iTero.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy.
- Knowledge of infection control standards within a dental setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
