Registered Dental Hygienist

In this role, you will utilize your expertise in dental hygiene to promote oral health, educate patients on proper dental practices, and support the overall success of our dental practice. Duties

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral health evaluations.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies.
  • Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging), applying sealants, and administering fluoride treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols.
  • Support infection control procedures by practicing aseptic techniques and adhering to sterilization standards.
  • Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal care delivery.
  • Review documentation for accuracy, assist with medical coding for billing purposes, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including HIPAA.

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials.
  • Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
  • Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting, scheduling, and record management.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology.
  • Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and documentation review processes.
  • Ability to perform dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting using aseptic techniques effectively.
  • Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to pediatric patients when necessary.

Pay: $43.72 - $52.65 per hour
