Duties

  • Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral health evaluations.
  • Execute professional dental cleanings using ultrasonic scalers and polishing tools to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging), ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment plans, and review documentation for completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Support infection control procedures by practicing aseptic techniques and sterilizing instruments according to established standards.
  • Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for efficient documentation review and data entry.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless patient flow and uphold high standards of patient care across general dentistry and pediatric dentistry services.

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding for accurate documentation and billing processes.
  • Expertise in pediatric dentistry practices, including handling young patients with patience and compassion.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures essential for safe practice environments.
  • Ability to perform medical imaging procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety standards.
