What You’ll Do:
- Provide gentle cleanings and fluoride treatments for children and teens.
- Take high-quality digital radiographs and intraoral photos.
- Educate kids (and parents!) on the "Bright Starr" way to brush and floss.
- Collaborate with our pediatric dentists to create customized care plans.
What We’re Looking For:
- License: Active Maryland RDH license.
- Personality: Patient, kind, and great at "tell-show-do" techniques.
- Experience: Pediatric experience is a plus, but we love training passionate new grads!
- Skills: Strong communication and a talent for easing dental anxiety.
Job Description:
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history and current dental concerns to ensure safe and effective treatment.
- Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification.
- Proven experience in dental office settings, with familiarity in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical coding practices.
- Experience working in pediatric dentistry or with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to all safety protocols.
