Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options.
• Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout procedures, including vital signs assessment and managing medical emergencies if needed.

Skills

• Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation management.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards.
• Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics to effectively care for young patients.
• Skilled in chairside assisting, including aseptic technique and medical imaging procedures.
• Ability to review medical records accurately and understand medical coding for billing purposes.
• Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to individual needs.

Pay: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour
