Registered Dental Hygienist

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment planning.
  • Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, medical records, and clinical notes in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials.
  • Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinic environments.
  • Proficiency with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for documentation review.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy, and dental assisting procedures.
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus for working with young patients effectively.

Pay: $39.00 - $45.00 per hour
