Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene practices, patient care, and clinical procedures. As a key member of our practice, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality preventive dental services, educating patients on oral health, and supporting overall clinic operations to ensure an exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup effectively.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe treatment planning.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Assist with dental procedures by preparing the treatment area and providing chairside support during various treatments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic protocols.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record management.
- Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist within a general or pediatric dentistry setting.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices relevant to dental records management.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred but not mandatory; however, comfort working with children is highly valued.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document patient interactions accurately.
- Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health, as well as the ability to perform patient assessments effectively.
- Prior experience in dental office or clinic environments that emphasizes patient care, documentation review, and medical imaging procedures is advantageous.
