Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to maintain optimal oral health for patients of all ages.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
- Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Denticon or Dentrix.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care strategies, and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Enter treatment and order treatment as instructed by dentist
- Review and document medical records accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and proper handling of dental instruments.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state licensing requirements.
- Proven experience in general dentistry.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health.
- Experience using EMR systems such as Denticon or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding.
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
Pay: $42.00 - $45.00 per hour
