Registered Dental Hygienist

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies to promote lifelong oral health.
• Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort.
• Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies.
• Review documentation for accuracy, update patient charts, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes.

Skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
• Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
• Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively.
• Familiarity with general dentistry procedures, including chairside assisting and documentation review.
• Understanding of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and infection prevention protocols.

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
