Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic FFS dental office. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, and a thorough understanding of dental hygiene practices. As a key member of our practice, you will provide comprehensive preventive dental services, educate patients on oral health, and support the overall efficiency of the dental office. Your expertise will help ensure our patients receive top-quality care in a welcoming and professional environment.

Duties

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Conduct initial patient assessments, including vital signs measurement and medical history review, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their individual needs.
  • Take digital dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Review medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with dentists and other team members to develop personalized treatment plans for pediatric dentistry cases and general dentistry patients.
  • Monitor patient vital signs during appointments to identify any health concerns that may influence dental treatment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection control standards and sterilization procedures.
  • Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as documentation review, medical coding, and updating patient records accurately.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices essential for safe clinical procedures.
  • Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, with the ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and recognize signs that require medical attention or referral.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems for efficient documentation review and record management.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality in healthcare settings.
  • Excellent communication skills for educating patients about oral health practices and treatment plans.
