As a vital member of our dental practice, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, maintaining a clean and efficient work environment, and working closely with our dentists. Responsibilities
- Perform routine dental hygiene procedures, including scaling, polishing, cleaning, administering anesthesia and laser therapy.
- Take radiographs to prevent oral health issues, educating patients of their oral condition, and proper home care routines.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, to identify potential health risks.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical and dental records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
- Implement infection control measures and follow aseptic technique to prevent the spread of disease.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in dental technology and techniques.
- Work collaboratively with our dental team, including dentists, assistants, and other hygienists, to provide seamless patient care.
- Provide patient education and oral health advice to promote healthy habits and prevent oral health issues.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of new procedures and protocols.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, providing exceptional customer service to all patients.
Requirements
- A current license to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the state of California.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in dental hygiene from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a dental hygiene program and a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding.
- Familiarity with four-handed dentistry and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with electronic medical records and dental office management systems.
- Excellent patient assessment and communication skills.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean and organized dental office environment.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and protocols.
- A positive and professional attitude, with a strong focus on patient care and satisfaction.
