Position Overview
The Registered Dental Nurse plays a key role in supporting dentists and specialists in delivering high-quality dental care. This role involves chairside assistance, sterilization, patient communication, and ensuring compliance with DHA and clinic standards. The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Support
- Provide chairside assistance during general dentistry and specialist procedures (restorative, endodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and aesthetic treatments).
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials according to dentist requirements.
- Mix dental materials such as cements, impression materials, bonding agents, and composites.
- Capture high-quality intra-oral photographs and assist with digital scanning procedures (if applicable).
- Take and develop X-rays following radiation safety guidelines and DHA protocols.
- Ensure proper infection control procedures are followed at all times.
Sterilization & Safety
- Manage sterilization of instruments and equipment using approved sterilization cycles.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly sterilization checks per DHA regulations.
- Ensure waste management and hazardous material disposal is done according to guidelines.
Patient Management
- Welcome and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring comfort and reassurance.
- Provide post-operative instructions as directed by the dentist.
- Update patient files in PMS (e.g., EasyDent, Dentrix, or other clinic systems).
- Assist in maintaining high patient satisfaction and service quality.
Administrative Duties
- Manage stock levels and inform the clinic manager when items need reordering.
- Maintain accurate dental records and treatment notes.
- Support reception when needed (scheduling, calls, patient follow-up, billing explanations).
Compliance & Professional Standards
- Ensure all procedures comply with DHA guidelines, infection control policies, and clinic protocols.
- Maintain valid DHA license/eligibility letter.
- Participate in CPD activities, training, and team meetings.
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- DHA-licensed or DHA-eligible Registered Dental Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in the UAE is essential.
- Strong knowledge of infection control, sterilization standards, and dental terminology.
- Excellent communication and patient-handling skills.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
- Fluent in English; Arabic or other languages is an advantage.
- Professional, presentable, and punctual.
