Position Summary​​​​​​​​​​​​

The Registered Dietitian (RD) in a metabolic clinic specializes in obesity management and is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals seeking to improve their metabolic health, obtain a healthy weight and manage chronic conditions. The RD will provide evidenced-based nutritional counseling and develop personalized nutrition plans and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patients in achieving their health goals. After a 30-day onboarding period and in coordination other providers and clinic management, the RD will have the opportunity to conduct telehealth visits remotely with the potential of occasional in-person patient visits. We are open to both part time and full time positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling for metabolic health and weight loss via telehealth
  • See occasional in-person patients at designated clinic locations as needed
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, follow-ups, and progress monitoring
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Registered Dietitian to ensure consistent, high-quality care
  • Document all patient encounters accurately in EHR platforms
  • Develop individualized, patient-centered nutrition plans aligned with clinical guidelines
  • Participate in weekly in-office or on-site meetings, training, onboarding, and case reviews
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and adhere to telehealth and in-person care standards

Requirements and Qualifications​​​​​​​​​

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Current Registered Dietitian (RDA) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Licensed as a Dietitian in the state of Tennessee.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in clinical nutrition, with a focus on obesity and weight management preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy for obesity and related conditions.
  • Excellent communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management or other relevant certification.
  • Experience in motivational interviewing or other behavioral counseling techniques.
  • Experience in hybrid (telehealth + in-person) clinical roles
  • Background in chronic disease management (diabetes, insulin resistance, cardiometabolic health)
  • Comfort working in a collaborative, growing clinical practice
  • Experience in working with diverse populations and addressing health disparities.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus
