Job Posting: Part-Time Registered Dietitian – Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic (Raleigh/Cary)

Location: Raleigh, NC
Schedule: Part-time, Hybrid | 3 Days/Week | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Are you passionate about supporting maternal health and helping patients manage complex nutritional needs during pregnancy?

We are seeking a knowledgeable and caring Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our Maternal Fetal Medicine care team and provide individualized, compassionate nutritional support. Our team serves the Wake County community and beyond, specializing in diagnostic ultrasound and consultative care of high-risk OB patients, including those with diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.

Position Summary:

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, which includes physicians, nurse practitioners, registered dietician, and registered nurses, the Registered Dietitian will deliver individualized nutrition care plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient, provide education, and support patients through pregnancy complications related to nutrition and metabolic health with primary focus on our diabetes program. This role involves working both autonomously and collaboratively to educate and empower expectant mothers through nutrition-focused interventions and evidence-based strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and calculate nutritional needs using standardized practices and critical thinking
  • Develop, implement, and monitor personalized nutrition care plans for OB patients with complex medical needs
  • Provide one-on-one counseling and group education using established behavioral change techniques
  • Review blood glucose and CGM data for patients seen by RD within diabetes program
  • Review CGM data weekly for collaborative care
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff as a nutrition resource
  • Maintain timely and thorough documentation in the EMR system (Athena)
  • Participate in the creation and updating of evidence-based nutrition protocols and train clinic staff accordingly
  • Support compliance with clinical and regulatory guidelines through audits and documentation reviews

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Preferred: Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Strong rapport-building skills with a patient-centered approach
  • Proficient in group education and public speaking
  • Organized and self-motivated with strong time management skills
  • Strong knowledge on diabetes management and medications
  • Tech-savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant platforms
  • Able to work in a mostly sedentary role with occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) and movement throughout the clinic
