Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Waypoint Counseling & Maternal Wellness is a behavioral health practice serving clients across North Carolina from our Durham and Raleigh offices, with both in-person and telehealth options. Our team of over 35 providers delivers counseling, psychiatric, and integrated wellness services with a focus on women’s health from prenatal through perimenopause and menopause.

The Role

This is a full-time, production-based provider position. You will carry your own caseload of clients, billing insurance directly for medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and related services. Waypoint will credential you with our contracted payers and provide the infrastructure (EHR, scheduling, billing support, referral pipeline) so you can focus on clinical work.

Your clinical focus will center on women’s health nutrition across the reproductive and hormonal lifespan:

Prenatal and postpartum nutrition
Gestational diabetes and hypertensive disorder management
Perimenopause and menopause-related nutritional needs (integrated with our PMC program)
Hormonal health, metabolic health, and weight management in the context of life stage transitions
Lactation nutrition support
General wellness nutrition for women across the age spectrum

This is not an eating disorder treatment role. While you may encounter clients with disordered eating patterns, the primary clinical focus is integrated women’s health nutrition, not specialized ED treatment.

What You’ll Do

Maintain a full-time caseload of nutrition clients, primarily via telehealth
Conduct initial nutrition assessments and develop individualized care plans
Provide ongoing medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for perinatal, hormonal, and women’s health conditions
Collaborate with Waypoint’s counselors and nurse practitioners on shared clients, particularly within the PMC program
Document sessions in SimplePractice (our EHR) within required timeframes
Participate in weekly staff meetings and individual supervision/consultation
Contribute to referral development by building relationships with OB/GYN offices, midwifery practices, and women’s health providers in the Triangle and surrounding markets

Qualifications

Required:

Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Licensed or license-eligible in North Carolina (Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist, LDN)
Clinical experience in women’s health, maternal/perinatal nutrition, or a closely related area
Comfortable with telehealth service delivery
Able to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team

Preferred:

Experience billing insurance for MNT services (CPT 97802, 97803, 97804)
Certified in prenatal/perinatal nutrition or related specialty
Familiarity with SimplePractice or similar EHR platforms
Existing panel of clients or referral relationships in the NC market
Experience or interest in perimenopause/menopause nutrition
