Job Description: Registered Midwife (Clinic-Based)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Registered Midwife to join our multidisciplinary clinic team. The role involves providing antenatal, intranatal (if applicable), and postnatal care, patient education, and assisting the physician in managing high-risk pregnancies, especially those complicated by diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, and anemia.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties
- Conduct antenatal assessments: BP, weight, BMI, fundal height, fetal heart rate monitoring
- Assist in routine antenatal care and follow-up visits
- Monitor and support high-risk pregnancies (GDM, PIH, anemia, thyroid disorders)
- Provide postnatal care, lactation support, and newborn care counseling
- Identify danger signs in pregnancy and promptly inform the physician
- Assist in minor procedures, sample collection, and referrals when needed
Patient Education & Counseling
- Counsel mothers on:
- Nutrition in pregnancy and lactation
- Gestational diabetes monitoring and insulin use (if applicable)
- Antenatal exercises and birth preparedness
- Breastfeeding techniques and newborn care
- Maintain empathetic communication and patient confidentiality
Documentation & Coordination
- Maintain accurate antenatal and postnatal records
- Assist in digital or manual record keeping
- Coordinate with laboratory, ultrasound, and referral centers
- Support medical camps and awareness programs organized by the clinic
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / BSc in Midwifery or Nursing with Midwifery Registration
- Registered with State Nursing Council
- Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred
- Experience in antenatal and postnatal care (clinic or hospital setting)
- Knowledge of gestational diabetes and hypertension in pregnancy is an advantage

- Excellent patient communication and counseling skills
- Compassionate, disciplined, and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently in OPD settings
- Familiarity with basic computer or EMR systems preferred
Working Hours
- Monday to Subday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- (May vary during medical camps or special clinics)

- Salary: As per qualification and experience
