Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) works under the Director of Nursing to provide safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. The RN provides direct care, care planning, administrative, and clerical duties while using technology to support patient care and team communication.

For more than 40 years, CompDrug has offered comprehensive services in prevention, intervention and treatment to those seeking help for their addictions and mental health issues. It is now the largest opioid treatment program in Ohio, offering medication-assisted treatment using FDA-approved medications. Essential Functions
  • Deliver direct nursing care, including but not limited to assessments, medication dispensing and administration, in-person and telehealth nursing visits, and educational groups
  • Create and implement nursing plans to promote patient health based on toxicology results, nursing assessments, and patient goals
  • Review lab results with patients, provide medical education, and refer to appropriate providers when needed.
  • Respond to patient health concerns and escalate medical issues as appropriate.
  • Conduct chart reviews, enter provider orders, serve as charge nurse on a rotating basis, provide care coordination and other administrative tasks
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Ensure proper medication storage, handling, and inventory, including controlled substances.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards in all patient care areas.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Collaborate as part of interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care to patients
  • Follow state and federal regulations, agency policies, and nursing best practices.
  • Complete required training, certifications, and continuing education to maintain licensure.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in initial and periodic compliance processes.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
Requirements
  • Graduation of an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Maintain licensure/certification as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio
  • Proficiency with EHR and other computer applications for documentation and communication
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to change
  • Empathetic approach to nursing care and staff interactions
  • 1 year addiction or psychiatric nursing experience preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Must be able to meet the following physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: 1) Sit, walk, stand, use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment; 2) Reach with hands and arms; 3) Talk and hear; 4) See and be able to read, and write; 5) Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Work is performed in person in an outpatient clinic setting.
  • Role may occasionally require walking across a busy street to other campus buildings.
