Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care, medical procedures, and healthcare documentation, with a passion for delivering compassionate, high-quality nursing services. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, implementing care plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes across diverse clinical settings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
- Administer medications and injections accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage complex medical procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, and wound care.
- Document patient information meticulously using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide specialized care in areas such as critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, or hospice & palliative medicine based on experience.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities or memory care needs through tailored interventions and compassionate communication.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Ensure infection control standards are maintained at all times within clinical environments such as hospitals or outpatient clinics.
- Participate in discharge planning and patient education to promote ongoing health management and wellness.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to nursing practice.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation.
- Experience with diverse clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, ventilator management, tube feeding, and wound suturing.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to perform triage effectively in urgent or emergency situations.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate medical record keeping and billing processes.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers with trauma medicine expertise.
- Compassionate approach when working with vulnerable populations including seniors in assisted living or long-term care facilities.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and sterile processing techniques essential for safe patient care.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
