Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications via injection, IV infusion, and other routes while adhering to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
- Perform specialized procedures including catheterization, tube feeding management, ostomy care, and wound care in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Provide patient education on medication administration, disease management—including infectious disease control—and health coaching tailored to individual needs.
- Ensure accurate medical documentation of patient care activities, intake/output records, ICD coding for billing purposes, and compliance with NCQA standards for quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of employment with current CPR/BLS certification.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care (ICU/Level I & II trauma centers), or outpatient clinics.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for comprehensive patient assessment and treatment planning.
- Experience working with special populations including pediatrics, geriatrics (including memory care or dementia/dementia care), behavioral health patients or individuals with developmental disabilities.
