Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience across various specialties, including critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and outpatient settings. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, performing assessments, administering medications and treatments, and ensuring adherence to healthcare standards such as HIPAA and infection control protocols. Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using EMR/EHR systems.
  • Administer medications and injections accurately following aseptic techniques and medication protocols.
  • Perform specialized procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations (including Foley and central lines), suturing, tube feeding, ostomy care, and wound management.
  • Manage airway care with ventilator support and perform respiratory assessments as needed.
  • Provide acute pain management, triage patients efficiently in emergency or urgent care settings, and coordinate care plans with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing, sonography, mammography, and basic imaging procedures.
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions, medication regimens, discharge instructions, nutrition plans, and health coaching strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards and maintain sterile processing protocols for medical equipment.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as hospitals (including Level I & II Trauma Centers), outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice & palliative care units, home & community care environments, and specialized units like PICU or neonatal units.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in nursing practices and healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
  • Proven experience in diverse clinical settings such as ICU (including Level I & II Trauma Centers), emergency rooms (ER), medical-surgical units, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics (including dementia & Alzheimer's care), behavioral health, or post-acute care environments.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, laboratory procedures, infection control practices, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Skilled in performing advanced procedures including IV insertion/infusion therapy, phlebotomy/venipuncture, catheter care (Foley & central lines), sterile technique applications for surgeries or invasive diagnostics like spinal taps or gastroscopy.
  • Experience working with special populations such as children (pediatric & neonatal care), elderly (geriatrics & memory/dementia care), patients with disabilities or developmental challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments such as trauma centers or urgent care clinics.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
