REGISTERED NURSE

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care through collaboration with medical providers and the healthcare team. This role includes clinical care delivery, patient coordination, documentation, education, and support services to ensure high-quality, safe, and compassionate care across all patient interactions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Incorporate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
  • Perform clinical nursing duties and assist providers as part of the care team.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, including escorting patients and ensuring readiness for provider evaluation.
  • Obtain and documents patient information accurately, including chief complaint, history, medications, allergies, vital signs, height, and weight.
  • Update and review patient charts prior to appointments, including test results and diagnostic information.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team in a timely, accurate, and professional manner (written, verbal, and electronic).
  • Confer with providers regarding incomplete tests, consultations, or care needs prior to patient visits.
  • Employ critical thinking and clinical judgment to support patient care and problem-solving.
  • Engage in compassionate, relationship-based care, addressing physical, emotional, and psychological patient needs.
  • Provide patient education to promote health, prevent disease, and ensure understanding of treatment plans, medications, and equipment use.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered, including injections, specimen collection, EKGs, and other clinical procedures.
  • Triage and respond to patient communications in accordance with practice policies.
  • Communicate test results to patients as directed by the provider.
  • Assist with coordination of care, including scheduling tests, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
  • Process prior authorizations and support medication management, including controlled substance monitoring as applicable.
  • Maintain accurate medication and sample records and supports prescription workflows.
  • Manage assignments, clinical flow, and resources effectively to support patient care delivery.
  • Maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness, proper stocking, and readiness between patients.
  • Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  • Apply leadership skills appropriate to role and experience, including supporting and guiding team members when needed.
  • Participate in training, onboarding, and precepting new clinical staff as appropriate.
  • Integrate evidence-based practice and collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide specialty-specific care consistent with organizational standards.

Other Job Duties

  • Maintain competency in nursing practice and clinical responsibilities.
  • Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure a safe patient care environment in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Utilize electronic medical records and other systems in accordance with policy.
  • Assist with patient recall initiatives and follow-up care coordination.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Compliance

The RN must be compliant and cooperate fully with Ezra Medical Center’s compliance program, including its standards of conduct and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the RN’s regular performance evaluation. Failure to comply with Ezra Medical Center’s (EMC) written standards, which includes the failure to report any conduct or event that potentially violates legal or compliance requirements, will be met by the enforcement of disciplinary action, up to and including possible termination in accordance with EMC’s compliance program.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Professional nursing experience appropriate to the position preferred

  • Strong clinical skills utilizing the nursing process
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English; additional languages preferred

Job Setting / Physical Demands

  • Work in patient care environments
  • Require prolonged standing and walking
  • Use of required protective equipment (e.g., gloves, gowns, face shields, respirators)
