- Friday 10p-6a (on med cart)
- Saturday 6a-10a (treatments), 10p-6a (on med cart)
- Sunday 6a-10a (treatments), 10p-6a (on med cart)
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA guidelines and aseptic techniques, including IV infusion and medication administration.
- Manage airway care with ventilator support and perform advanced procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and tube feeding when necessary.
- Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs, including those requiring dialysis, cardiac catheterization, or trauma medicine in Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations like laboratory specimen collection/processing, sonography, or radiology procedures such as mammography and gastroscopy.
- Coordinate discharge planning and case management for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, and hospice & palliative medicine patients.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain accurate medical documentation while adhering to HIPAA standards.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in the state of employment with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Proven experience in acute care settings such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), emergency room, or hospital medicine; experience in trauma centers is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and electronic health record (EHR) systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks.
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex procedures including venipuncture, phlebotomy, sterile processing, ostomy care, and infection control practices.
- Critical care experience with familiarity in cardiology procedures such as catheterization or pacemaker management is advantageous.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health cases, and individuals with disabilities or memory care needs.
- Excellent communication skills for triage assessments and patient education; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Pay: $37.95 - $45.70 per hour
