The 22-bed Acute Care department includes 2 ICU beds. Nurses experience a close-knit, team-based environment with the flexibility to float between units as needed.
Due to the nature of the work, there is exposure to infectious diseases, including blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, muscle strains, falls and potential for needle-stick injuries—strict adherence to safety protocols is essential. A mechanical lift is available for lifting patients when needed.
