The Home Care Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients in their homes, ensuring comfort, safety, and adherence to Dubai Health Authority (DHA) standards. This role involves medical care, patient education, and emotional support, tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care Planning
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ health status.
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and family members.
- Clinical Duties
- Administer medications and monitor adherence to prescribed regimens.
- Perform wound care, tracheostomy and gastrostomy care, suctioning, and ventilator management.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation).
- Provide emergency interventions when necessary.
- Patient Education & Support
- Educate patients and families on disease management, medication use, and lifestyle adjustments.
- Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and caregivers.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure confidentiality.
- Comply with DHA regulations, infection control protocols, and patient safety standards.
- Home Safety & Coordination
- Assess home environment for safety risks and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
- License: Valid DHA Nursing License (or eligibility).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years clinical experience; home care experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to various home environments.
- Proficiency in EMR systems.
Regulatory Compliance
- Must meet DHA standards for home healthcare services, including:
- Primary Source Verification (DataFlow) of credentials.
- Passing DHA licensing exam.
- Good Standing Certificate from previous licensing authority
