Registered Nurse (RN) – Home Care Clinical Oversight (Part-Time / On-Call)

We are a growing non-medical home care agency serving the north Twin Cities metro, currently expanding our license from Basic to Comprehensive under Minnesota Statutes 144A.

As part of this transition, we are hiring a Registered Nurse to provide the clinical oversight required under a Comprehensive Home Care license.

This is not a traditional full-time clinical role. It is a low-hour, high-responsibility position designed for an experienced RN who values flexibility, autonomy, and clear expectations.

The Role

This position exists to fulfill the clinical and supervisory requirements of a Minnesota Comprehensive Home Care license.

You will serve as the agency’s RN of record, responsible for ensuring that care plans, assessments, and oversight meet state requirements. The day-to-day caregiving and scheduling functions are handled by our internal team.

This role is primarily:

• On-call / as-needed
• Low time commitment (estimated 5–10 hours/week to start)
• Flexible scheduling

Core Responsibilities

• Complete initial and ongoing client assessments as required by MN 144A
• Develop and oversee client care plans
• Provide clinical supervision of unlicensed personnel (UP)
• Be available for consultation on client condition changes or care questions
• Participate in required documentation and policy compliance
• Support readiness for state survey and ongoing regulatory compliance

What This Role Is Not

To be clear—this is not:

• A shift-based nursing role
• A high-volume visit model
• A micromanaged environment

We are not looking to “fill hours.” We are looking for the right clinical partner to help us operate correctly and responsibly under a Comprehensive license.

What We Are Looking For

• Active Minnesota RN license (required)
• Experience in home care, case management, or community-based care (strongly preferred)
• Familiarity with MN 144A home care regulations (or willingness to learn quickly)
• Comfort working independently without constant oversight
• Strong judgment and ability to make practical, real-world decisions
• Clear, direct communicator

Compensation & Structure

• Hourly or monthly retainer structure (based on experience and availability)
• Flexible hours with significant autonomy
• Designed to fit alongside another role, semi-retirement, or independent consulting work
