Registered Nurse – Outpatient - Mobile Response Unit

Job Purpose:
Primary responsibility is to respond in partnership with a case manager to 911/988 calls. The MRT medical professional will work with their partner to divert mental health, substance use, and basic medical emergencies from law enforcement response when legal intervention is unnecessary. Promote efficient coordination of client care through collaborative practice and ongoing behavioral and medical care management, this can entail transport of patients to appropriate facility/resources.
Goals and Objectives:- Provide quality behavioral health and basic medical services including, but not limited to: therapeutic interventions; mental status exams; intervention and management; coordination of patient’s medication regime.
- Provide Internal and external care coordination services to effectively manage the physical and behavioral health care needs of patients and insure seamless integration of complex services.
- Improve client satisfaction and health outcomes through direct client assessment and intervention, medication management and collaborative care delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Function as ancillary team to the Co-Responder model, embedded within local Law Enforcement Agencies.
- Provide and recognize an environment conducive to safety for self, partner, patients and others in responding to calls.
- Work positively and cohesively as a member of the MRT team to effectively and efficiently meet the medical and behavioral health needs of patients.
- Work closely and collaborate within a team-based model, to include law enforcement, to ensure effective and efficient delivery of care coordination and case management services within the community.
- Demonstrate customer service focus and good communication and professionalism with patients, co-workers and outside agency personnel in order to provide high-quality services to enhance community relationships.
- Communicate effectively to establish supportive therapeutic relationships with patients in order to evaluate, screen, educate and provide therapeutic interventions and care coordination to best meet client treatment goals.
- Carry out established medical protocols based on assessment and identified needs.
- Maintain and operate vehicle in a safe manner at all times in collaboration with partner.
- Coordinate care with the Co-Responder Program’s Case Managers, Co-Responders and other AllHealth programs as appropriate and available based on client needs.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of interactions and any subsequent follow-up services.
- Follow infection control policies and procedures and serve as the team’s consultant regarding standard precautions.
- Screen patients for health issues related to any presenting medical concerns; provide education around managing medications and chronic illnesses; make referrals for ongoing care as indicated.
- Skillfully observe, assess and accurately document patient’s mental and medical status and progress and provide appropriate interventions and communication to other involved team members.
- Maintain a positive, ethical, and professional working relationships with community, government agencies, and other professionals.
- Promote a positive and professional culture of collaboration within AllHealth Network.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately, legibly, and within established timelines; meet all documentation standards for the level of care.
- Follow all AllHealth Network policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including those related to confidentiality, release of information and recordkeeping.
- Complete all required training as required (both online training and face-to-face training) within required timelines and any required by law enforcement agencies.
- Perform other duties as required within the scope of the position and the experience, education and ability of the employee.
Key Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Education:
- Registered Nurse with current/active Colorado license, BSN preferred OR
- Paramedical professional with current and valid Colorado licensing or certifications.
Experience:- Minimum of 2 years of related clinical practice experience with diverse populations in an acute care setting.
- 2 years working in a behavioral health setting experience preferred.
Skills/Knowledge:- Demonstrated ability in assessment including evaluation and interpretation of medical and behavioral health information.
- Experienced in care management, managed care and discharge planning coordination, and the management of psychotropic medications.
- Skilled in written and oral communication, decision making and problem solving skills, efficient time management with multi-tasking ability.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team; collaborating with other internal and external teams.
- Ability to operate PC-based software programs including proficiency in Word, Excel and other computer based systems
- Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations and make good judgments, ability to be unaffected by loud noises, and flashing lights.
- Ability to read and understand GPS systems, and discern street signs and address numbers.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats as well as via telephone and radio equipment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to lift, carry and manage equipment located in the mobile response van
Schedule: Working on an as-needed basis picking up shifts between Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM
This role requires active licensure as an RN.

Pay:
- $85k-$92k per year
- $6/hr shift differential for hours worked between 5pm and 7am and all day on Saturdays and Sundays
- $5,000 SIGN ON BONUS for full-time RNs – external candidates only
- AllHealth Network also provides a 10% compensation differential for individuals who are bilingual (language proficiency testing required).
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the AllHealth Network hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, merit, and the ability to embody the AllHealth Network mission and values. The range listed is just one component of AllHealth Networks’ total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives as well as a generous benefits package detailed below.
