Overview:
Clinical Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Flex Pool
Mercy Medical Center, a Magnet-designated facility, with its rich history and visible dedication to serving the needs of the Baltimore community, is seeking an experienced RN to join the team in Mercy Medical Center's Med/Surg Flex Pool.
Our Clinical Nurses (RN) in the Med/Surg Flex Pool independently provide care to adult patients in various medical and surgical subspecialty units. Working with a dedicated team, the RN provides evidence-based, high quality care, including patient assessment and treatment, and serves as a resource for other team members.
Responsibilities:
Certification Requirements: Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS upon hire • Specialty Certifications: PACU, ICU, Cath Lab, Angiography, Lung Center, McAuley Surgery Center - ACLS within 1 year of hire NICU/PEDS - NRP within 6 months of hire ED - ACLS within 6 months & ENPC or PALS within 1 year of hire Mother/Baby, Labor & Delivery - NRP within 6 months of hire Telemetry - ACLS within 1 year of hire or within 18 months if new grad • Other Requirements: Critical thinking Prioritization • License Requirements: RN License • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: ••• Microsoft Word, Power Point, Access, Excel ••• Microsoft Outlook ••• Meditech ••• Epic ••• Performance Manager/NetLearning Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Education and Work Experience:

Must possess a high school diploma or GED

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and successfully completed the State Board of Nursing Licensure Exam

Must possess 0-1 year of current clinical experience
-
Must obtain 10 Contact hours per year, fifty percent of which must be clinically focused. Academic course credits may be used on a 1:1 credit hour exchange.
