Position Summary
ENT of South Georgia Surgery Center is actively looking for an experienced operating room circulator in a state-of-the-art surgery center. The Registered Nurse (RN), OR Circulator is responsible for setting up and assisting in surgical cases in the operating room. This position ensures patient safety, monitors vital signs, and supports surgeons in executing procedures while maintaining a sterile environment. The Registered Nurse, OR Circulator will work closely with physicians, surgical teams, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality perioperative care and enhance patient outcomes. This PRN (as needed) position will offer hours to cover vacations, sick time, and FMLA of existing staff. The RN will be working with a surgical staff of 2 scrub techs and a CRNA along with ENT surgeon. Comparable pay depending on experience
Key Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary surgical instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies are available and functioning properly before procedures begin.

Perform initial patient assessments, verify patient identity, and confirm correct surgical site in accordance with safety protocols.

Provide direct intraoperative care by monitoring vital signs, maintaining patient positioning, and ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure.

Support the surgical team by anticipating needs and supplying appropriate instruments, equipment, and medications during surgery.

Uphold sterile technique and enforce infection control and surgical compliance standards to maintain a safe environment.

Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient records, including pre-op assessments, intraoperative notes, and postoperative summaries.

Manage and maintain operating room readiness by cleaning, restocking supplies, and preparing for subsequent cases or the next day’s procedures.

Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or inventory shortages to the appropriate personnel to ensure continuous operational readiness.

Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal outcomes and a positive experience.

Actively engage in quality improvement initiatives, adhere to all regulatory and organizational standards, and participate in ongoing education and professional development.

Qualifications
-
Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice required.

Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.

At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in surgery

At least 1 year experience as Circulator
-
BLS, and ACLS certification required; additional certifications related to ENT or Allergy specialties are a plus.

PALS certification preferred.

Knowledge of ENT conditions and treatments. Excellent communication and patient education skills, with a focus on delivering compassionate care.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.
