Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our oncology team. This provider will deliver high-quality, comprehensive care to oncology patients under physician supervision and, following credentialing and training, independently within scope of practice.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, clinically strong, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced medical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the oncology setting under physician direction and independently following credentialing
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment and care plans
  • Monitor and manage patients undergoing cancer treatment, including assessment of side effects and symptom management
  • Administer chemotherapy and supportive treatments as warranted (rare), consistent with credentialing and scope
  • Review laboratory results and approve medications and treatments as directed by supervising physicians
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, chemotherapy, symptom management, and survivorship care
  • Assist with and/or perform procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures, consistent with Georgia scope of practice regulations
  • Respond to urgent or emergent patient needs as appropriate
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted Georgia RN license with APRN certification or current Georgia PA license
  • National board certification required
  • Oncology experience preferred (minimum 1 year of oncology nursing or oncology practice experience strongly preferred)
  • Oncology certification (e.g., OCN®, AOCNP®, or equivalent) preferred but not required — training available for the right candidate
  • Strong clinical knowledge of oncology treatments, medications, and symptom management
  • Proficiency in patient assessment and care planning
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and function effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Experience working with geriatric populations preferred
  • Familiarity with durable medical equipment (DME) used in oncology settings is a plus
