Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg
Location: New York, NY 10037
Shift: Night Shift (7:30 PM – 8:00 AM)
Contract Duration: 14 Weeks
Schedule: 34.5–37.5 hours/week (3 shifts/week, 11.5–12.5 hours per shift)

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care, including pre-operative and post-operative support, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Provide direct bedside care to medical and post-surgical patients
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
• Perform clinical procedures including wound care, IV insertion, and catheterization
• Monitor patient conditions and vital signs, reporting any changes promptly
• Operate and manage medical equipment as required
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams on treatment and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and recovery processes
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in compliance with standards
• Adhere to all clinical protocols, safety guidelines, and best practices

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience in an acute or post-acute setting
• Recent clinical experience within the past 12 months
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Experience with medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
• Knowledge of infection control practices and post-operative care
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and patient education

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EPIC EMR system

Education Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution

Certifications & Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – State of New York
• Primary Source Verification through NYSED
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association (AHA)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – AHA (required for select units)
