Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. This vital role involves overseeing clinical operations, supervising nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and delivering exceptional patient care. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
- Provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluations for nursing staff to promote professional growth and team cohesion.
- Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and medical documentation to ensure accurate and timely care delivery.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans tailored to patients’ needs across acute care, long-term care, geriatrics, behavioral health, and specialized units such as ICU or pediatric settings.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection control procedures, and healthcare accreditation standards including NCQA standards.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation, order entry, and data management to streamline workflows.
- Participate in discharge planning, utilization review, case management activities, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Skills
- Extensive nursing experience with proficiency in Epic EMR systems or similar EHR platforms.
- Proven leadership skills with supervising experience in hospital medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), or emergency medicine settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience with specialized areas such as dialysis, ventilator management, IV infusion therapy (including IV insertion), catheterization care, sterile processing, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs monitoring and physical examinations.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities; experience in dementia or memory care is a plus.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and procedures related to laboratory experience or medical imaging is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for effective triage, patient education (health coaching), family planning discussions, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
