Shift- 7am-3:30pm
Pay Rate- $63/hr - $65/hr
Contract- 9 week
Days-Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse - Unit Manager (RN UM) to lead and coordinate patient care within a vibrant healthcare setting. Duties

  • Lead and supervise nursing staff to deliver comprehensive patient care aligned with clinical best practices and organizational policies.
  • Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to ensure accurate and timely records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Cerner or Epic.
  • Oversee medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, wound suturing, and sterile processing to maintain safety standards.
  • Facilitate discharge planning, family communication, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including case management, physical therapy, and social services.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols while managing patient confidentiality and medical records.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, supervise staff training on new protocols or EMR updates, and promote professional development within the team.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives focusing on patient safety metrics such as fall prevention, infection rates, or acute pain management.

Experience

  • Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers with familiarity in trauma protocols like Level II trauma center standards.
  • Extensive background in medical-surgical nursing, geriatrics including dementia care or memory care units, behavioral health settings, or pediatric units such as PICU or neonatal ventilator management.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or nurse management experience leading teams in fast-paced healthcare environments.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation and utilization review purposes.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to medication administration and diagnostic evaluation techniques like sonography or spinal taps.
  • Skilled in working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays across various settings including assisted living or home care environments.
  • Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures like cardiac catheterization or gastrostomy tube feeding, and DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) classifications for billing purposes.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), IV insertion techniques, sterile technique practices, and infection control standards is required to ensure high-quality patient care.
